Work Experience placement with Design Mentor Adam Piggot and Client Glasgow Wood Recycling.
For this project I was tasked with creating new branding for a Glasgow based company. After initial meetings, we found that their brand themes were focused around 'Furniture, Environment, Social Inclusion and Heritage'Brand traits were also established as 'Crafted, Industrial, Supportive and Passionate'.
The company was looking for a logo that reflected their brand themes and traits.
Proposed Logo focusing on 'Heritage'. Inspired by old-fashioned boiler plates as discussed with the client.

After developing the logo above, there was concern over how different the proposed logo was to the existing logo. This led to rethinking the concept and producing a new outcome that still worked with the brands themes and traits, but also took into consideration their original logo.

Strap Line

G-Arrow
During the rebrand, the decision was made to remove the word 'Recycling' from the brand name as it no longer reflected all that this company did with their work.
The strap line ‘Good With Wood: People, Planet, Home’ and the G-Arrow device, convey the social commitments that underpin the work at Glasgow Wood. These are used as supporting elements to the logo.
The G-Arrow is made from the ‘G’ in the logo. It signals the role Glasgow Wood play in supporting the circular economy.
